How to care for my ZZ Plant?

Where to position?

ZZ plants are not too fussy when it comes to light and positioning. Bright indirect light is good but not essential as they grow well in low levels of light. However it is best to avoid direct sunlight.

How often should I water?

Allow the soil of your ZZ to dry out at the top between watering, if it is dry to touch then it will be ready for a drink. Avoid overwatering as this can cause root rot.

What is the best temperature?

ZZ’s prefer an average warmer temperature between 15-24°C. Avoid temperatures lower than 8°C.

Is it toxic to animals?

ZZ’s are toxic to animals and children. It is best to wear gloves when handling your ZZ plant.

What are the benefits?

ZZ plants are low maintenance so they are one of the easiest plants to care for. They are also air purifiers so remove toxins from the air.

Hint – ZZ plants are known for their waxy, glossy leaves, so to keep your ZZ nice and shiny, wipe the leaves with a damp cloth as needed to remove dust. Misting the leaves occasionally will also reduce dust build-up. Keeping your ZZ dust-free is also beneficial for its health as the leaves will be able take in more sunlight.
